Great News
Another of the legendary Dave the Dog Open Mic Nights at the Thomas Lord on Friday. Hurrah!
Another rehearsal
No drummer on Monday - Ian still out on his yacht - and poor old Dave was stuck in a traffic jam in Oxford. In fact, in the quieter moments in Shed 3b, you could just hear what he thought of his predicament floating through the expensive soundproofing. The fact that we could just hear it suggests that he was actually further away - Auchtermuchty, perhaps. If he really was in Oxford, we'd surely have had to turn the amps up to 11 to cover the expletives.
Anthony bravely stood in for Dave, selflessly abandoning GCSE Eng Lit revision for several cans of Carlsberg and two hours of hard bass lines. Still, it went very well.

It wasn't my idea.
In an inexplicable move to cull the number of guitarists from two to one (having already despatched one to the wilds of Brighton), Tod insisted on publishing this picture.

It might be worth postulating what question may have provoked Dan's eloquent, finger-based response. How about: "How many more months cropspraying have you got, Dan?"

New Gig Refusal
Just a quick post to say that I have reluctantly had to turn down a booking for the Autumn for the local Conservative Party. I would like to point out that this is due to the Thomas Lord Old Gits' official policy (see The Handbook, page23, paragraphs 23-27) to be completely apolitical and non-partisan. It's nothing to do with the fact that Cameron and his chums are a bunch of fudgepacking Europhile twats.

Two rehearsals
That nice Mr Blogger (who runs this site) decided to crash the whole system last week, so it has not been possible to report on the Old Gits' progress. We have had two rehearsals in that time, one with Ian and one without; he is spending a couple of weeks in his luxury yacht. He has promised to keep the ipod (with our complete setlist on it) glued to his ears at all times.
The last rehearsal was spent sprucing up harmonies, which all sounds very professional. Mind you, the 'No Passports Required' Tour is only a few weeks away....

Cancelled Gig
Very sadly, it seems that both the gig in Milan and the one in Milland have been cancelled. One of them wasn't actually due to happen in the first place, but no-one's sure which one.

Another minor celebration
And this is the 100th post. Hurrah (again).

A minor celebration
The Thomas Lord Old Gits website notched up 5,000 pageviews this morning. Hurrah.

Tour confusion

Back to 7/8ths strength
Last night it was as near to a full house as we're going to get while Jesse is down in Brighton.
First the important business: HAKHAC has been disbanded. The HAPMAAC was formed in its place.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm.
Back to the music, though. We thought that Dan was taking his blues guitarist ambitions a bit too seriously by sitting down for the whole evening a laBB King, but it turned out that he'd knackered an ankle playing rugby, and simply couldn't stand. Mind you, if his face goes the same colour as his ankle, he'll be one step closer to BB King. Silly boy.
Lovely to have Tessa back from the USA, seemingly unaffected by her travels, and boosting the depth, variety and quality of the vocals. We even let her off not sending any postcards.
Gigs keep pouring in; two confirmed and one potential. It's a good thing we're sounding as good as we do.
Ian keen to do another stops'n'starts session sometime.
