Monday's rehearsal - the answers

Right; the first answer is here, thanks to the fantastic Internet: the excellent Toy Dolls. See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1F3Uhrj9YVI

The second answer is that the sheet we were following is spectacularly wrong, thanks to the useless Internet; no wonder we couldn't get it to sound right. I'll re-do it to match Mr Cocker's best efforts. Meanwhile, there's an entertaining 'mis-heard' lyric version here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xJWxPE8G2c

No sign of Smooth Charlie, Tess or Jesse last night. And not much sign of the traditional setlist either. It was a very jolly experimental evening.

Lots of gigs on the horizon, but none confirmed yet.

Last Night's Rehearsal

After a nice fortnight's break, the TLOGS gathered for another rehearsal. We were still missing a couple - Jess in Brighton (now working part-time at Screwfix; fairly interesting job in the nation's gay heartland, I would have thought) and Tess still in the USA (follow her exploits at applefairey.blogspot.com)

Smooth Charlie still admirable on the drums, Hairy Charlie a bit short of left hand skills (consultant says it's probably a ruptured disc in the base of the neck) - no-one noticed the difference, sadly. Anthony filling in for Dave on bass, and overlapping for a bit once he turned up. Memories of Spinal Tap doing Big Bottom at the otherwise excruciatingly awful Live Earth ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iN42uzNFVmQ )

Mid-harvest wedding gig is off - probably a good thing. More fascinating rumours of Stockstock abound.......

Updates

Blimey, the rehearsal two weeks ago has gone unposted. Dave was back, so it was loud. It was Tessa's last for a bit before she takes on New York again - nice to know they're letting her back in. Jess still in Brighton. Er...that's about it.

More later - including gossip and details of the upcoming woodstock/Longstock/freestock/livestock/bloodstock/stock cubes/OXO festival that has caused such excitement (at least in the SO24 postcode area, anyway.)
